Chroma Paint

As an exercise to practice packaging design, I created a new, fictional Valspar line of paint called Chroma.

I felt the best way to sell paint was to add an image that the customer could aspire to. In this case, I used an image of two nicely painted homes, one neutral and another colorful.

The color of the vivid bands and the colorful house is changed depending on the type of paint inside, interior or exterior, semi-gloss or high-gloss, oil-based or water-based, etc. to allow for easy differentiation between each formula.

UNWINED

In my hometown of Liberty, MO, there is a winery started by a local family in 2011. In truth, I’m not a huge fan of the original labels, so for fun, I created the label I would have liked to see used instead.

The winery occupies the old Odd Fellows estate, with beautiful grounds and architecture. The estate is simple and elegant, but also filled with mystery and whimsy, all characteristics that I tried to incorporate into my label.

The UNWINED label is shown on a bottle of wine with a red foil seal on the neck and a full glass behind it
